Plante annuelle à racine simple, grêle, pivotante; à tiges de 10-40 cm ascendantes ou dressées, simples ou rameuses, glabres, nues, offrant quelques écailles herbacées au sommet
Écologie : (répartition d'après la flore) Bruyères, rochers, champs et lieux sablonneux dans toute la France.
Répartition hors de France : Europe, Algérie.

A slender annual with several branched flowering scapes 8-23 cm high, growing from a radical rosette of leaves.
Ecology UK: (distribution according to flora) It is a rather uncommon plant of sandy places in England and S. Scotland.

Fleurs : capitules assez petits ; involucre glabre à folioles intérieures égalant à peu près les fleurs ; fleurs jaunes.
Floraison France : Mai-août.

Flowers: Flower-heads 8 mm diam., on simple or branched, scarcely bracteate scapes; involucral bracts imbricate, lanceolate, smooth, scales small, ovate; florets 12 mm long, yellow.
Flowering UK: Early July-late Aug.

Feuilles : toutes radicales, glabres ou ciliées, oblongues, atténuées à la base, sinuées ou pennatifides à lobes aigus (cf. H. radicata),
